Something To Talk About

While I positively love talking about my grils I thought I would share some other things that are going on around here.

1. I'm pretty sure my husband is a ROCKSTAR. He is such an amazing Father and a great provider for our family. The other day we went to a gala for a new store opening. It was so much fun to see him with all of his co-workers. I can't tell you how many people came up to me telling me how great my husband is - but I already new that.

2. I'm back at school this week. I have to say while I miss my girls like crazy and I love spending all my time with them I've had fun at school. It's amazing to see how much my kindergarten kids have grown from the beginning of the year. They are smart kiddies. Friday is our Wild West Rodeo Day, we've invited Olivia and Sophie. It'll be a fun day.

3. Incase you don't live in Utah and you are reading this blog the weather here is crazy. One day it's sunny and almost 80 degrees and he next day it snows. I'm starting to have sun withdrawls. It's so bad I almost went tanning the other day. I was able to restrain myself though.

4. House for sale - Ray and I are venturing out and have decided to put our house up for sale. We've loved living in Eagle Mountain but we spend so much of our time in Salt Lake County. We're not in any rush but we are hoping it sells soon. We want to get our next home built ASAP. We've choosen to build in Day Break which is in South Jordan. Go ahead tell me how you feel - we've heard it all.

5. Summer Plans - My mom is coming to stay with us while I finish up the school year and then we are heading down to California. We're hoping to go to Sea World and spend a few days at the beach. Oh and Ray is going to Italy for two weeks. He's taking his Dad. I'm sure they are going to have lots of fun and it will be an amazing experience for him.

Well that's what's going on in our lives. I hope you enjoyed hearing about somehting other than our cute girls. I'm sure i'll be back to writing about them soon. Olivia's 2nd birthday and Sophie's blessing are coming up.

2 Months, 10 lbs, 22 inches, and 5 Shots

Today was a day filled with mixed emotions. No tears from Mom were shed but plenty from Sophie. Sophie has reached a milestone in her life - she is 2 months old. Along with that milestone came lots of pain. She recieved 5 shots today. Poor kid she didn't even know what was happening. After what was a pleasant visit with the doctor came two nurses bearing needles. Sophie was just lying there smiling and cooing. She was in a happy mood until each of the nurses stuck a needle into each of her legs and then repeated until she had been pricked 5 times. And then after a delayed reaction Sophie proceeded to excersize her lungs very loudly. Since leaving the doctors office she has continued to excersize her lungs. We have to very careful not to touch her legs and this induces more crying. Here is a picture of her and Ray after an exhausting day.

Even though Sophie had a tough day she is growing like a weed. She is now 10 lbs and 22 1/4 inches. Developmentally she is doing everything she is suppose too. I love watching her smile and she is starting to coo lots. Being a Mom is great, except when you have to watch them cry - that just breaks my heart. Here are some pictures of our cute girl.

Sophie vs The Bottle

Currently Sophie is winning the war against the bottle. She is refusing to take a bottle. We have tried everything - different bottles, different nipples, sugar water, different people giving it to her. My kitchen cupboards look like the baby aisle of a grocery store. I have every brand of bottle and nipple and my Sophie says "NO" to all of them. I never had this problem with Olivia. She was so great about switching between nursing and taking a bottle. Why is this a problem you may ask? Other than I never get a break. Because in less than a week I return to work. I teach Kindergarten in the mornings and I will miss one feeding. Not really sure what I'm going to do come Monday. Or better yet what Sophie is going to do. We were actually reduced to using a syringe (thanks Jonelle) today. She got what she needed but she was not happy about it. I just sat on the stairs listening to her cry while Ray attempted to feed her. It was a very sad cry:(

Conference Weekend

Well I must say this was another great Conference weekened. It's always fun to see old friends and get together for a ladies night out. This Conference was especially great for Ray and I. Ray and I are both converts to the church and the only Prophet we have known as members is President Hinckley. It was amazing to be able to stand and sustain President Monson as Prophet. Between chasing my two year old around the house and soothing a crying infant I didn't get to see many talks all the way through. I heard bits and pieces here but what I did hear was wonderful. My favorite was hearing President Monson talk about his wife. It made me appreicate my marriage and afterwards I ran down stairs to tell my husband how much I loved him. The sweetest thing was watching Olivia get so excited when the choir would sing and when she would fold her arms during prayers. These are a few of my favorite memories from conference.
