December... All Wrapped Into One

Wow...I have been a lazy blogger. It has been a crazy busy month and I have so many fun things to share. So here it is, our whole month of December. Let's start with the Gingerbread Man. Early this month I was in the kitchen making a Gingerbread Man for my Kindergarten class. We were going to bake him and of course he was going to escape and run away. Livie caught me making this Gingerbread Man and she wanted to help. She was quite angry when I took him to school and then didn't come home with him. When I got home that day the first thing Livie says to me is, "Where's the gingerbread man?" So that weekened Livie and I rolled up our sleeves and made another gingerbread man. This time she got to keep him and eat him. He kind of blew
up in the oven. We like plump Gingerbread Men in our house. Sophie even enjoyed a bite.

After the Gingerbread fun Grammy and Livie decided to make Christmas ornaments. Did I mention my wonderfully sweet husband accidentally gave all of our Christmas decorations away to DI. He took the wrong box and didn't bother to look at what he was donating. After I forgave him Livie and Grammy decorated our Christmas tree with lots of candy canes, Christmas trees, and Santa and Mrs. Claus.

All Sophie wanted for Christmas this year were her two front teeth. I guess we'll have to settle for the bottom two teeth. Finally after months of anxiety and waiting Sophie got her first tooth followed by the second. She got them a little late in life at 10 months.

Finally Christmas afternoon arrived. We went sledding in the morning and opened our presents later that afternoon. Sophie was so excited she started to climb the mound of presents. This was Livie's first Christmas where she got the idea of presents. She loved everything and Sophie just loved the wrapping paper.

Olivia's prized possession. Her most favorite Christmas gift. Her new kitchen set has given Mom and Dad many hours of peace and quiet, except for when she serves us food.

And yes that's Sophie's standing all by herself. She's been doing this for almost a month. She's taken a few steps on her own. I'm pretty sure she'll be walking before her first birthday.

Well there it is our December Winter Wonderland.
