Sunday Message
In order to achieve a peaceful Sunday I wrote this scripture on the chalkboard - "A new commandment I give unto you. That ye love one another as I have loved you." - John 13:34. Every time the girls started yelling at each other I asked Olivia to read the scripture to Sophie. The scripture reading diffused the situation and brought peace to our home. Mission accomplished!

Day 41 and a Spiritual Thought
Today's Lesson - Service
TRUE SERVICE IS FREE OF ALL SELFISHNESS AND FOSTERS CHRIST-LIKE LOVE.
President Thomas S. Monson repeats what the Savior said—that in order to find purpose in life, lose yourself in the service of others.
Hand-in-Hand on the way to church.

Day 13 and a Spiritual Thought
Afternoon nap...
After church today Sophie went straight to her room to watch a movie. I went to sneak a peek at her and she was passed out on the floor. I love Sunday naps.
I taught a lesson on Eternal Marriage in relief society today. I'm so used to teaching 5 and 6 year olds that I get intimidated in front of adults. It went wonderfully or so I hope. All the ladies had such beautiful experiences to share and comments to contribute. I am thankful to have an eternal marriage. I am thankful for my knowledge of the Savior and for the joy I find in my eternal family.

A Child of God
Today was a bittersweet day. Today Ray and I attended the funeral of a 14 year old boy. He was the son of a very good friend. He died around 2 am after having a seizure. His Dad went to wake him the next morning and found that he had passed away. The boy had suffered from a severe seizure disorder since he was 18 months old. He had been in and out of hospitals and life was pretty hard for him. He was a victim of bullying because kids just didn't understand. He truly is in a better place now. He is in a place where he can be whole and healthy. A place where he can be loved by our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. He is a place where one day he will be reunited with his family for all eternity. It is hard to shed tears when I know he is in a better place but plenty of tears were shed none the less. Today when we returned home from the funeral Ray and I both hugged are little girls tight and said a silent prayer thanking our Father in Heaven that they get to stay with us for just a little while longer. At the funeral we sang the song I am a Child of God. It is a such a sweet song and a beautiful reminder of who we truly are.
I am a child of God,
And he has sent me here
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear,
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday
I am a child of God,
And so my needs are great;
Help me to understand his words,
Before it grows to late,
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday
I am a child of God,
Rich blessing are in store;
If I but learn to do his will
I'll live with him once more.
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday
I am a child of God,
And he has sent me here
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear,
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday

Conference Weekend
Well I must say this was another great Conference weekened. It's always fun to see old friends and get together for a ladies night out. This Conference was especially great for Ray and I. Ray and I are both converts to the church and the only Prophet we have known as members is President Hinckley. It was amazing to be able to stand and sustain President Monson as Prophet. Between chasing my two year old around the house and soothing a crying infant I didn't get to see many talks all the way through. I heard bits and pieces here but what I did hear was wonderful. My favorite was hearing President Monson talk about his wife. It made me appreicate my marriage and afterwards I ran down stairs to tell my husband how much I loved him. The sweetest thing was watching Olivia get so excited when the choir would sing and when she would fold her arms during prayers. These are a few of my favorite memories from conference.
